Your Caketu Store
Your Caketu.com store acts as your own mini website, with your own URL which will look like this: www.caketu.com/baker/[yourstorename].
You can then use it on Facebook, Instagram etc, so customers can see your products and order from you any time of day or night!
It’s fast and simple to set up your store, using our quick-start wizard that will guide you through the process in just a few minutes.
You’ll be able to personalise your store with a logo, banner image, an ‘About’ page, and list your store policies (or just accept our standard policies). It’s your store. You can amend any details later from your dashboard, if needed.
If you don’t have an official logo, just use an eyecatching picture of a cake you’ve made!
It’s easy to list products, following our template, and you can list as many products as you like. You set the prices. You upload the pictures. You write the descriptions. You’re in control.
You can list single-priced products with multiple flavour/colour options.
You can list variable-priced products where the same product comes in different sizes/quantities, with prices to match.
You can list products where you offer customisation in the form of name/age/message, or decoration.
Setting delivery charges
If you wish to, you can choose to offer delivery, or specify collection only.
If you offer delivery, you can set charges priced by distance, according to rules you create in your dashboard.
This additional charge is clear at checkout for the customer to decide if they want to pay for delivery or collect.
Manage Your Schedule
There’s three ways to schedule:
Firstly, you can set default lead-in times for all your bakes, so customers can’t book at cake at midnight and expect to collect it tomorrow.
You can set different lead-in times for different products. So if you’re happy to make most of your products with only 24hrs lead-in, but want 7 days notice for a complex cake, that’s fine, you can specify that in the product’s listing.
Secondly, you set days when you’re open and days when you’re not (you can also book holidays). With Caketu.com, even if you’re on holiday, your store is never really closed! Customers can order and pay for cakes for dates you’re open in the future.
Thirdly, you can limit the number of bakes customers can order in a day by setting up and allocating resources to each product, so you don’t get overwhelmed by too many orders in a short space of time.
What Will It Cost?
7.2% referral fee for 6 months (if you sign up and list at least 5 products within 14 days)
As a thank you to Caketu pioneers, we’re reducing our fees for new bakers who sign up to the ‘Introductory Membership’ package to a simple flat-rate 7.2% referral fee (Minimum referral fee 50p per item) for the first 6 months.
When your Introductory Membership ends (or if you don’t list 5 products by the specified date), your membership will automatically be converted to the standard free membership package.
We plan to offer this option for new sign ups until March 2023, but reserve the right to withdraw it, without notice, at any time.
